Eco-Schools Silver Award – The Silver award focuses on strengthening pupil leadership and whole school involvement.
Learning to Lead School Award – This award teaches pupils to know how to act upon something they care about or have an interest in. It means pupils at St John’s can be at the heart of their school putting across ideas.
B&NES Inclusion Quality Mark Award – This signifies successful inclusive practice is taking place at St John’s and is in line with Ofsted expectations. The award also allowed us to identify areas on which we could improve and acted upon this.
Healthy School Award – St John’s was the first primary school in the country to be awarded the Healthy School Award. It was awarded to St John’s because of the healthy school meals that are provided to pupils and staff.
Arts Council Artsmark Gold – This award demonstrates St John’s has a real commitment to the arts provision. The award allowed teachers to support progression and provides leadership opportunities for the pupils.
International School Award 2013 – 2016 – This scheme provides recognition for schools and the teachers that are intilling a global dimension in to the pupil’s work. The work is included in the school’s curriculum and covers a range of subjects, for example, the culture of different countries.
Food for Life – St John’s was the first school in the country to earn the Food for Life Gold Award. This award shows St John’s provides healthy meals as well as properly managinjg food waste. Also, it means we offer a minimum of 12 hours of cooking lessons to pupils a year.
Activemark Rewarding Commitment – St John’s school has been awarded Activemark for demonstrating its commitment to promoting the benefits of physical activity.
ICT Mark Award – St John’s was awarded the ICT Mark Award for demonstrating that we are committed to using technology to enhance performance and efficiency. It also shows the children at St John’s are being taught how to use technology correctly and safely.
We are delighted to have been awarded a Gold School Games Mark, recognising the children’s enthusiasm for PE as well as our commitment to competitive sport, high quality PE and out of hours sports provision.
